CHANGES SINCE 1.0b4
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
* Both abouts are a bit rewritten. I suggest you to check out both =);
* Added the MOTD for the OpChat (Qwerty.MOTD);
* Few cosmetic changes in the internal bot structures;
* Added the random greetings. When the person joins the channel, tre bot greets
him/her with one of the 5 greetings. Check out Greetings dialog for it;
* You no longer need to enter the pathnames in the Transfer Settings. Now
you can do that just by pressing a button.
* Few bugfixes.
CHANGES SINCE 1.0b3
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
* New WDEF completely changes the look of the bot (WDEF was written by
Gersh);
* Another re-work of LinkLooker. Damn. Will this damn thing EVER work?..
* Removed help in the Apple menu but added the online help which you can
read with your fav text editor or call by issuing the HELP command to
the bot;
* All setup dialogs now have close boxes;
* Usage of LinkLooker is still not recommended. Probably I'll redo
it in the next beta.
* Oh yeah, insults isnt working yet too. Sorry.
CHANGES SINCE 1.0b2
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
* Link Looker now is off by default;
* Fixed some bugs in the OpChat and IRCLE/IRCLE2 commands;
* Added a kludge in LinkLooker rouitne that HOPEFULLY will not make
the bot jump onto the other server while receiving LINKS;
* Removed the music in the "secret" about - I see no point of
wasting the disk space and your minds any more;
* Changed the application icon and creator; this creator will be permanent.
CHANGES SINCE 1.0b1
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
* When the person joins OpChat, now the bot notifies all users in the
OpChat;
* Fixed CHVER command - now changes ctcp version reply as expected;
* Bot now scans if News and Sitez files exists, and if not, creates them;
* Added new menu, Commands; added few initial commands to it.
CHANGES SINCE 1.0b0
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
* Bugfixes:
- Reworked the LinkLooker engine. Now it hangs on VBL quene routines.
- Most of the QwertyBot code rewritten;
- QwertyBot is using custom-written sound output routine which is not
using standart Sound Manager calls;
* New features:
- If the bot was kicked by the other bot with the revenge on, the bot will
not kick it back;
CHANGES SINCE 1.0p5
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
* Bugfixes:
- The servers found with LinkLooker starting with * (like *.be) won't
show up any more - I see no use of seeing that crap in the splits
report.
- Some minor bugfixes and cleaning-up;
* New features:
- Bar functions (BAR)
- Link-looker optimization
CHANGES SINCE 1.0p4
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
* Bugfixes:
- Bot now won't crash if it was nick-collided (thanks to Rogue-3)
- Bot's LinkLooker is now working better... (Rogue-3)
- All publics more than 255 characters is ignored, so the bot won't crash.
Hopefully. (Rogue-3)
- Hopefully bot is not going to crash on some PPCs on the hidden about.
(MoonDark & _Indigo)
- A lot of small bugfixes which I am not going to mention just because I
can't remember all of 'em =)
* New features:
- Added the "Startup Settings" dialog. Now you can choose which windows do
you want to open on the startup. You can even turn off the awesome splash
screen (but I'll beat you down if you'll do that =). Hopefully you'll
like this small feature (Suggested by Sheriff_)
- Added the news and sitez features. This isn't really new function, but I
need to be in sync with the Unix port ;) (NEWS, SITEZ, ADDNEWS, ADDSITE,
ERASENEWS, ERASESITEZ)
- Added the ircle killer (IRCLE & IRCLE2)
- Maybe something else, don't remember now...
A few common questions which I can't leave without the answer
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Q: Why NUKE isn't in it?
A: I don't think NUKE on the PPP/SLIP connection will be really useful.
The chances of that it will flood you first are more than it will flood off
the target =)
Q: What's so difficult about the spawn feature?
A: Macintosh architecture puts some limitation on the code block size and
the amount of memory that program is using. If I want to spawn a bot, I
need to reserve some memory buffer to handle the additional bot(s). If
you will increase the application memory that will help, but I don't
want some crappy bot taking 5Mb of RAM, so I am thinking on some other
way of handling the spawn feature...
Q: When the release will be out?
A: I really really don't know.... =( Hopefully soon. I am working on 3
projects at once (QwertyBot for Mac, Unix and X11), so it is really hard
to say when the final version will be ready. Besides, you are coming up
with more and more new neat ideas, so the release date of the bot is
moving into the infinite future. Oh well. But, I think, that by the end
of the June (!) the release will be ready.
